Getting to Know Compulse Integrated Marketing: The Blog Team 2.0

Here at Compulse, each and every person not only plays an extremely important role on our team, but they also lead interesting and unique lives outside of the office. We’d like to look deeper into our staff’s personal lives so that our clients can better know the awesome people they are working with.

This week’s spotlight is on the newest members of our blog team!

Q. What’s your position here at Compulse and what do you do?

A. I joined Compulse in the beginning of 2017 as a Web Content Specialist for the Telesales Department. I update our client’s websites with effective, innovative and optimized information. I also get my hands wet in the agency by building deals for Sinclair’s Deals Program, edit case studies and write creative content for the blog.

Q. What drew you to this company? To the blog?

A. I have a few years under my belt in the realm of digital marketing – website management, social media marketing, email marketing, writing content for blogs, etc., and have always known about Sinclair being a very reputable and successful company. When I learned about the digital agency, their vibrant culture and significant growth, I knew I had to be a part of it.

I was interested in joining the blog team because I have a B.A. in history from Colgate University where I enjoyed, and still enjoy, researching, writing and learning about different cultures, people and their histories. The blog provides a great outlet to be able to write for fun while also touching on interesting and relevant topics in the world of digital marketing.

Q. How have reading and writing made an impact on your life?

A. Seeing how I was a history major, I’ve always had a passion for reading and writing. Reading not only opens the door to other cultures, personalities, narratives and time periods, but also enhances our vocabulary.

Oh, and the fact that I was able to join the Compulse Book Club, along with other Compulse bloggers, because of our passion for reading is pretty cool. We can be a competitive group, too, so maybe that has something to do with my passion for reading… you decide.

Q. Tell me something about yourself that not many people may know:

A. I was bitten by a turtle when I was younger and can moonwalk…only if I am wearing socks on a slippery floor.

Q. What are your favorite things to do in your spare time?

A. In my life outside of Compulse, I enjoy red wine, good food, crafting and live music. I have always been passionate about sports; therefore, you may also find me running around the Baltimore harbor or playing outdoor volleyball. Go ‘Gate!

Q. What’s your position here at Compulse and what do you do?

A. My job title here at Compulse is Web Content Specialist. While the main function of my job is to integrate content into websites, I’m also tasked with doing quality assurance on sites, helping Frank with our deals program, and being part of the amazing blog team!

Q. What drew you to this company? To the blog?

A. The ability to help small businesses build their digital presence and compete with larger corporations is what truly drew me to Compulse – well, that and the ability to work with a dynamic company that is full of smart and creative people.

I was drawn to the blog because I have a degree in Communication Studies from Towson University. What better way to communicate with as many people as possible than helping the blog team put out amazing content?

Q. How have reading and writing made an impact in your life?

A. I have been an avid reader ever since my days hanging out at the Towson Branch of Baltimore County Public Libraries. Participating in both their summer reading programs and the Sneaks reading program were some of the highlights of my youth.

Writing is a skill I’ve always wanted to develop and this seems like a great opportunity to hone my skills and learn new ones from a group of creative and amazing writers.

Q. Tell me something about yourself that not many people may know:

A. I am adopted. I was born in Seoul, South Korea and was adopted when I was 18 months old.

Q. What are your favorite things to do in your spare time?

A. I am an avid gamer of all different varieties: board, card, and video games are just a few of the many I enjoy. In particular, I like old-school adventure games like “Maniac Mansion,” rogue-lites such as “Binding of Isaac,” and horror games like “Resident Evil.” I also enjoy cooking and bead-spriting. The more creative, the better!
